Woods loses appeal in voter fraud case

Former Bolivar City Council Woman Brenda Woods has lost her latest appeal on Wednesday, October 7, for a conviction of three counts of voter fraud in a case that originated from the May 2009 election in Bolivar.
According to court documents, Woods was originally convicted in 2009, in Hardeman County, but that conviction was overturned in 2012. Woods was retried in May of 2014, in McNairy County, where she was once again convicted. Woods appealed, and the appeal was heard on August 4, 2015, and denied on October 7.
