Water for Hornsby, Revisted

The Hornsby Board of Aldermen will try to swim against the current of a $37,000 water bill when they meet in April. The bill, reported to be about $30,000 higher than the monthly charge, has caused the town to catch the attention of the Wastewater Financing Board (WWFB) who made Hornsby an agenda item this past week.

“There are numerous issues that have come to light,” said Board of Aldermen member Patricia Plunk. “I have been kept informed by the WWFB and should receive their notification if the WWFB votes to move forward with the investigation. I have been assured, they will follow through with this investigation.”

Hornsby has struggled with increasing rates and reported decreases in the quality of their water in the past few years.

The Hornsby Board of Aldermen will be at 7:00 p.m. on April 4 at Hornsby City Hall.
