Thompson is Fireman of the Year

Chief Lynn Price announced today that Volunteer Firefighter Charles Thompson has been named as the  2015 Fireman of the Year for the Bolivar Fire Department.  Charles joined the department in March 2013 and became a certified firefighter in June 2013.
Charles was selected as the 2015 Fireman of the Year by Chief Price and was presented the award by Chief Price and Assistant Chief Faulk informally earlier this month.  Chief Price stated that Charles’ commitment to the department was the driving force behind his selection for this award.  As an example of that commitment, Charles responded to over 150 emergency calls during  2015.  “I commend Charles on his selection for 2015 Fireman of the Year and am pleased to present him with this award.  Charles is always ready to assist with departmental events and exemplifies what we look for in a volunteer firefighter,” said Chief Price.
Charles attended Fayette Ware High School in Somerville.  He currently resides in Bolivar.  He is engaged to Susan Jackson and has two sons, Alan and Easton.
