Le’Curnita Spencer, former landfill employee, has filed a complaint alleging racial discrimination as the reason she was terminated from employment.

Spencer files discrimination claim against county

A racial discrimination complaint filed to the Tennessee Human Rights Commission (THRC) by a former Hardeman County employee has received a response from the commission stating the commission would be making a recommendation there was not enough evidence to support a discrimination finding.
Le’Curnita McKinnie-Spencer, who was terminated from her position at the Hardeman County Solid Waste and Landfill Office, filed a complaint with the commission on February 10 stating her termination was the result of racial discrimination on the part of Mayor Jimmy Sain.
“On September 5, 2014, three (3) days after Mayor Jimmy Sain assumed office, he had me suspended without providing any explanation.
