Sheriff’s Dept assist in McNairy County capture
“Our department is proud to have been a part of assisting McNairy County in ensuring these suspects were located and captured. Our deputies are here to serve and protect citizens, whether it is in Hardeman County or when our assistance is requested by other departments,” Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen said, regarding the recent cooperation between Hardeman County and McNairy County in capturing those responsible for breaking into the Finger Post Office in McNairy County.
According to Hardeman County officials, on Wednesday, July 15, they joined with McNairy County Sheriff’s Department at approximately 10:30 a.m. to track the individuals responsible for breaking into the post office. Hardeman County Deputy Jason McCord used his K-9 dog named Jack, a German Shepherd dual purpose patrol dog, on the scene to provide McNairy County investigators with probable cause to search the residence where investigators located the suspects.
Jack picked up the scent of the suspects at the post office and followed the trail to a house near the post office and after Jack ‘hit’ on the house, investigators were able to secure a search warrant and enter the property where they discovered evidence from the break in at the post office.
