Run For TSU begins at Bolivar
Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) alumni Delvakio Brown, currently Mister Tennessee State University (TSU), brought members of the TSU Royal Court and Mister Lane College to BCHS Wednesday, August 12, in order to kick off “Run For TSU”. The effort is expected to bring countless dollars into a scholarship fund to provide scholarships for TSU male students from single parent homes.
“You are your own destination. It is always important to know who you are and what you represent,” Brown told the students during an early morning rally. “Many people ask why start it (Run for TSU) in Bolivar. The reason is Bolivar is special to me The world is missing out on a lot of talent and intelligence that is in this room today.”
After the rally, Brown and friends set out to run back to Nashville from Bolivar, making stops along the way to speak to other schools. The scholarship marathon will take Brown and his companions 161 miles on foot in six days.
