For more than 35 years, members of the Bolivar Rotary club have braved the heat of the summer to stand over a hot Bar B Q pit cooking chicken halves to help raise money for various events in the community, and year after year they sell out. About 1,000 chicken halves were sold this year, and about $6,000 was raised. Rotary members Frank Wilhite and Chris Bell begin the process of flipping about 500 chicken halves.
