Police awaiting test results in vehicle crash

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of a single vehicle accident on Monday, June 1, on S. Polk Street where first responders were called to assist in getting the driver out of the vehicle which had went off the road and flipped.
Lisa Howard, 47, of Bolivar was northbound on S. Polk Street when witnesses said the car drifted to one side of the road toward them and then corrected and went off the road, flipping the vehicle upside down.
“It was going pretty fast and was headed toward us,” the witness, who wished to not be identified, said. “As soon as I saw it, I told my husband stop because we have to call someone. I’m a nurse and I got down and at first I didn’t hear a response from her but then after a minute or two I heard a woman’s voice. She was able to tell me her name and seemed alert.”
