Mayor Carter working to bring dollar store to Hornsby

Hornsby Mayor Mack Carter told the Hornsby Board of Aldermen he was working on finalizing a deal to bring a dollar store to Hornsby, during their monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 7, at Hornsby City Hall.
According to Carter, he is hoping the store, which will not be a franchise, will go in to the old Hornsby Thrift Store building right across from city hall.
“We still have a few details to finalize, and we need to get some local investors in order to get this done,” Carter said.
The proposed name of the new store will be Hornsby Dollar.
In other news, the mayor said the town would be looking into getting a new, non pursuit, police car at a cost of around $10,000, but they still need to figure out how to fund it.
