John Harris, spaceship in his pasture?

Hardeman County cattleman John R. Harris was puzzled this past week when he discovered the grass in the center of one of his pastures had been killed in a strange pattern. “At first I thought it appeared as if something fell from the sky, burst, and sort of splattered. My wife laughingly said it resembled a huge chicken foot but it has too many toes. Truthfully I just don’t have a clue what caused this. I’ve raised cattle here for decades and this is something I’ve never seen before,” he said. Something alien or perhaps something as common as a lightning strike?
