Imagination Library Gets Donation

Simmons Bank recently made a $1,000.00 donation to the Hardeman County Imagination Library.

Hardeman County Imagination Library is available to all 1,171 eligible children, birth to age five, in the county. Its mission is to strengthen early literacy and foster a love of reading in Hardeman County preschoolers by mailing one Imagination Library book to the home of every enrolled child each month. All children in Hardeman County, from birth to age five, are eligible to enroll in this program—at no cost to the family.

The cost of providing one child with a year’s worth of Imagination Library books is $24, shared evenly between each county program and Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation, through a state grant approved by the Tennessee General Assembly.

Businesses, community, and faith-based organizations as well as individuals wishing to support the program or for more information, should contact Monroe Woods, Hardeman County Imagination Library Coordinator: 731-609-3906 or by email at: montenn@aol.com

According to Monroe Woods, Simmons bank has been a long-time supporter of the Hardeman County Imagination Library and the recent donated will help with expenses that the local organization must raise to keep the program going.
