Hornsby dollar store closer to reality
Hornsby Mayor Mack Carter told the Hornsby board of Mayor and Aldermen during their monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 6. that he has reached a tentative agreement with a major retail store to purchase or sell approximately 1.6 acres of the property that the city purchased last year at the corner of U.S. 64 and Main Street, for a new fire station, stating there was plenty of land left for the city's needs.
According to the mayor, the deal is on the condition the land is suitable for construction. The buyer will be conducting soil samples in the coming weeks and if all is approved the deal will be finalized.
