
Former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson dies
Former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson passed away on Sunday, November 1, in Nashville, following a recurrence of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, at the age of 73
Thompson served in the United States Senate from 1994 through 2003, filling the seat vacated by the Vice President Al Gore Jr., then ran unsuccessfully for the republican presidential nomination in 2008.
Marsha Blackburn, US Congresswoman from Tennessee said “Fred Thompson was a neighbor, a friend and a trusted political voice. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Jeri and all the Thompson family. Fred Thompson will be missed dearly. I appreciate all he did on behalf of conservative values for our state.”
