Captain America visits Bolivar

Allen Mullins, AKA Captain America, made a stopover in Bolivar on Thursday, December 17, as part of a 5000 mile journey that has taken him from Seattle  and eventually end up in Chattanooga, by the first of the year, in an effort to raise money for a new VFW post, American Legion post, and skateboard park in Warm Springs Org.
Mullins, 33, has logged well over 20,000 miles since 2009 when he quit his job as a house framer in Dalton Ga., because he wanted to draw attention to the plight of America’s homeless veterans, and help raise money for them. His goal is $250,000.
“I can not really explain why I do this, but I am glad I did,” Mullins said.
Mullins went on to say that he wears the costume because it is an attention getter.
“People will stop and talk to me and ask for a picture, and hopefully will give a donation.,” Mullins said.
He has worn many costumes during the past few years, including Superman, Batman, Robin, Halo, Spiderman, The Flash, and even a Gorilla.
“People seam to to respond to Captain America and Superman the best.,” Mullins said.
