The annual Patriotic Children’s Festival draws children and adults each year to enjoy games and food as they celebrate patriotism and pride in America.

Bolivar to hold third annual Patriotic Festival

Created by the City of Bolivar and Bolivar Mayor Barrett Stevens three years ago, the Children’s Patriotic Festival has become an annual event for children to have fun, parents to enjoy the day, and to teach children about being patriotic.
“We started this as a way to show our children how important it is to be patriotic and to love your country. We want them to be proud of the country they live in and the freedoms they have,” Stevens said. “Too many times we focus on the negatives and what is going on in the world but this is one day where we can put that all aside and realize we are still blessed to live in the greatest country in the world.”
The Patriotic Festival will be held Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in downtown Bolivar on E. Market Street. Various games and food will be available and all games are free for children 12 and under.
