Four Bolivar Dizzy Dean teams are West Tennessee State Champions

Four of Bolivar’s five all-star teams won their respective West Tennessee Dizzy Dean Championships this past weekend and will travel to Southaven in the next two weeks for the Dizzy Dean World Series where all teams are guaranteed at least five games, three in pool play, and two in bracket play.
The Bolivar 6U All-stars won two of three games against Germantown, winning their first game at home 17-9 on Friday, July 10. On Saturday, July 11, they played a double header, losing the first game in a heart breaker, 16-15, before bouncing back to win the third game 16-4.
“The kids played great defense and hit the ball well,” Head Coach Nathan Parker said.
The Bolivar 6U All-Stars will head to Southaven on Friday, July 24 for the Dizzy Dean World Series opening ceremonies, and will begin play on Saturday, July 25.
The Bolivar 8U All-Stars traveled to Germantown on Friday, July10, and Saturday, July ll, and swept a three game series against Germantown. In Friday’s game, Bolivar won a close one, 17-15. On Saturday, Bolivar dominated the first game, winning 17-6. in the second game of the day, Bolivar won 14-10.
The Bolivar 8U All-stars will travel to Southaven on Wednesday July 22, for the Dizzy Dean World Series opening ceremonies, and will begin play on Thursday, July 23.
The Bolivar 10U All-Stars played host to Germantown for a three game series on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11 walking away with the series sweep. Bolivar dominated Friday’s game, winning 13-0.
“Our pitching and defense was excellent. Our pitchers threw strikes, and the defense made some great plays. We need to hit a little better,” Head Coach Josh Clark said.    
In Saturday’s first game, Bolivar struggled a bit, but came back from a two run deficit with  three runs in the sixth inning for the 7-6 win. In the final game, Bolivar took control early, and walked away with an 11-1 win.
The Bolivar 10U All-stars will travel to Southaven on Friday, July 24 for the Dizzy Dean World Series opening ceremonies, and will start play on Saturday, July 25.
The Bolivar 11U All-stars traveled to Germantown on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, where they won two of three games in a three game series against Germantown. Bolivar struggled in Friday’s game, losing 13-3, but bounced back on Saturday, winning their first game of the day 14-6, then following that up with an 11-1 win in the series finale.
The Bolivar 11U All-stars will travel to Southaven on Friday, July 17 for the opening ceremonies of the Dizzy Dean World Series, and will begin play on Saturday, July 18.
The Bolivar Nine Year Old All-stars were the only team from Bolivar to not win their West Tennessee State championship. They traveled to Germantown for a three game series on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11 where they were swept by Germantown to end their season. On Friday, Bolivar lost 16-6. On Saturday they were defeated in a heart breaker 10-9 in the first game of the day, then lost 20-10 in their season finale.
The Bolivar Nine Year Old All-stars finished their season with a record of 1-5.
