West Memorial Baptist Church celebrates 100 years
Members of West Memorial Baptist Church, near Saulsbury celebrated their 100th anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 6, with a special service and fellowship meal.
According to church records, West Memorial Baptist Church broke ground on their first church Building in December 1915. The church had 19 charter members, and there have been more than 10 pastors during the life of the church. In December 2002, the current sanctuary was dedicated.
The service featured special music, from current and former members, a slide show history of the church as well as speeches from four of the former pastors, Bruce Coleman, who was pastor from 1980-83, Randy Latch, who was pastor from 1983-1986, David Chappell, who was pastor from 1987-1991, and Mark Duggin. Coleman was asked to give the sermon.
