W. Stan Ragon, Jr., M.D., joins West Tennessee Bone and Joint Clinic in Bolivar

W. Stan Ragon, Jr., M.D., West Tennessee Bone and Joint Clinic’s newest orthopedic surgeon, will begin treating patients in the outpatient satellite clinic at Bolivar General Hospital, 650 Nuckolls Rd., in September.
Dr. Ragon, who is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, joined West Tennessee Bone and Joint Clinic in August. He spent the last four years on active duty with the U.S. Navy where he was stationed in Guam and most recently Pensacola, Fla. He completed his residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Chattanooga and served as chief resident in 2011.
Dr. Ragon completed medical school with high honors at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis in 2006 and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2001. He grew up in Jackson and was valedictorian of the class of 1997 at Jackson Christian.
As a physician, he said, he enjoys the orthopedics specialty because of the variety of patients, from people with carpal tunnel syndrome to people who need a hip replacement.
“It’s been my goal since middle school to be an orthopedic surgeon at West Tennessee Bone and Joint Clinic,” he said. “I enjoy working with patients to help decrease their pain and help them return to their desired level of activity.”
