Sain host Elected Officials Prayer Breakfast
Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain hosted the 2016 Hardeman County Elected Officials Prayer Breakfast on Monday Jan. 4 at the First United Methodist Church in Bolivar. It is the second year Sain has hosted the event.
He stated, "What a great way to start a new year with all of our officials gathering for prayer. We must make the daily governing decisions based on our faith in God, always asking for His guidance."
The guest speaker this year was Tennessee Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris. Senator Norris addressed the crowd about ongoing state issues and issues Tennessee would be facing in 2016. He defended the principals of faith guided leadership and traced its history back to George Washington and our founding fathers. He talked about West Tennessee and his desire for it to overcome many economic downfalls in order to prosper. The Senator was excited about our economic future in Hardeman County. His speech was followed by a chain of prayers from local ministers and a praise song by Dave Wade of Dixie Hills Baptist Church.
