Parrans Chapel teaches children to shoot straight

Two years ago Justin Sullivan had an idea to incorporate a love of archery with a love of teaching children about the Bible. Today Parrans Chapel Baptist Church and center shot directors Sullivan and Mike Davis regularly host dozens of children each Saturday.
Reverend Josh Clark is invested in the project because his children are involved, but primarily because he sees the good the program can do for the church and the kingdom of God.
“We have two goals here, to teach a life skill (archery) but also to spiritually shoot straight,” Clark said.
He further likened “shooting a bow and arrow is similar to the spiritual struggle. If we keep focused its easier to stay on target.”
The program is based on the Centershot Ministry program. The mission of the program is “To provide the local church with a tool that will help evangelize, disciple, mentor and grow its church family.”
