Bolivar First United Methodist Church invites everyone to attend free movies beginning at 6 p.m. each Wednesday in July. In addition to the movies there will be free snacks and contests. Activities will be held in the Margie Young Life Center.

Miracle on 34th Street, Wall-E, Sandlot, Up. All movies, all part of BUMC ministry

Miracle on 34th Street, Wall-E, Sandlot, and Up. They’re all movies. Right? Yes, but aside from that, they have something else in common. They are now part of Bolivar United Methodist Church’s outreach ministry. Beginning on July 8 one of these classics will be shown each Wednesday for the entire month.
It’s a free family fun night and everyone is invited. Starting at 6 p.m. there will be a short devotional followed by a contest and then the movie. Winners of each week’s contest get the best seats in the house plus free snacks from the concession stand. In fact, everyone attending will receive a free theme related snack. Additional goodies will be sold by the church youth group as a fundraising effort for their mission work and other ongoing projects.
Each week’s movie relates back to the theme of the previous Sunday’s worship service. The contests are related to the movie’s theme. Miracle on 34th Street will be the opening Wednesday’s offering and the contest will be judged on the “Most Christmas Spirit”.
