Rev. David Harstin ,left, introduces Dr. Charles Page to begin a five part lecture series entitled “Jesus Ministry in Judea: A Holy Week Study”.

Middleton UMC host Holy Week lecture series

Dr. Charles Page was a guest lecturer previously at Middleton United Methodist Church. That three part series was an account of the history, Biblical prophecy, and terrorism as it relates to the Holy Land today. He returned to Middleton on Palm Sunday to present another series entitled “Jesus’ Ministry in Judea: A Holy Week Study”.
Dr. Page has a PhD in Archeology from the University of Chicago. He has lived in Israel for over forty years, where he participated in or directed many important excavations. Drawing on his life experiences, he lectures in a low key manner which combines Biblical, historical, and archeological facts. A sprinkle of humor helps keep the series moving as well.
His five part presentation during Holy Week began with Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on what Christians celebrate as Palm Sunday. Subsequent lectures dealt with Jesus’ cleansing of the Temple, the Last Supper, his arrest, trial, and crucifixion.
