Ken and Myrtie Schlueter celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Ken Schlueter & Myrtie (Willis) Schlueter are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24. They were wed in a small ceremony in the parsonage of Rev. Zuhle. In attendance was Kens mom and dad (Paul & Ruby Schlueter), Myrtie’s mom and dad (Nema and Paul Ballard). Kens brother Paul Jr and fiancée Rosetta Van Diglan and Myrtie’s brother Deloyd Willis. They left right away for Great Falls, Montana, where he (Ken) was stationed in the Air Force. After living in Montana, Illinois, Florida, Tennessee then back to Illinois they decided to retire in Myrtie’s hometown of Bolivar. God blessed them with three children, Kendra Szymanski (deceased), Ronnie Schlueter (Debbie) of Romeoville, Ill. and a daughter Penny Schlueter of Bolivar, seven grandchildren, Derrick Tamara Szymarski, Veronic (Schlueter) Harper, Kenny Schlueter, Marcia (Clark) Hazelgrove, Tommy Wein and Tim Clark, 12 great-grandchildren. They are members of Dixie Hills Baptist Church of Bolivar. A reception was held May 23, hosted by their children Ronnie and Penny in a combination of there anniversary and Ken’s 80th birthday.
