Hood celebrates 94th birthday
A birthday celebration was held for Nonie M. Hood of Saulsbury. On April 10, it was celebration time with thankfulness and praises to God for being 94 years old. She is the widow of the late Columbus (Pete) Hood and a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mentor.
Although she is retired from several public employments, Hood is still active in various areas of her life. She has received several plaques and awards from her church and district. She still has a very good memory and loves to talk about the good old days, sing praises to the Lord, fellowship with others and offer helpful advice to the younger generation.
She is a life-long member, the oldest member and a very faithful member of Bowden Hill Christian Methodist Episcopal (C.M.E.) Church in Middleton where the pastor is Rev. Jellory S. Stokes.
