Small Shack provided the entertainment for Grand Valley Lakes’ annual dinner/dance. Their love ballads, country, and old fashioned rock-n-roll kept the dance floor crowded throughout the evening.

Grand Valley Lakes holds annual dinner dance

Dinner, music, dancing, lots of laughter, and fellowship with neighbors. That pretty much describes the Grand Valley Lakes Annual Dinner Dance held Jan. 9, at the POA Lodge.
Under the auspices of the Grand Valley Board of Directors, the occasion is sponsored by the Property Owners Association each year. All members are invited. It is an great opportunity for old friends and neighbors to meet, relax, and catch up on the latest news or even gossip. It is also a chance to welcome new residents and make additional friends.
After a blessing offered by board member Ron Scott, guests were treated to an excellent dinner of salad, baked chicken, baked potato, green beans, and rolls topped off with cake for dessert. The event was catered by Marlene Cabanaw.
Music was provided by Hardeman County band, Small Shack. Jeff, Kandy, Jillian, and Trevor Shackelford along with Mike Smalley and Bobby Sain make up the group. From a little bit of country to a little bit of rock-n-roll, it did not take long to get the dance floor crowded with revelers. Slow, swing, and a good bit of line dancing filled the evening.
