BEA Community Calendar for the Week of December 1, 2022

Carl Perkins Center Festival of Trees - November 29 - December 3 - Bolivar Municipal Center. Lunch on Thursday, December and Friday, December 2 - 11 am -1:30 pm - Soups, Sandwiches, Dessert & Beverages - Vote on your favorite tree! Free lunch after casting your vote - no amount is too small! Proceeds benefit the Hardeman County Carl Perkins Center.

The Luez Theatre will present a Motown Christmas - December 1 at 7:00 pm. Tickets on sale through Eventbrite.com.

Middleton HOSA Santa Run December 2 during 6th & 7th for the High School students and December 3 11am-1pm for the Community

Polar Express Pajama Party - December 2 - 6-8:30 pm at the Bolivar Municipal Center. Cost is $10 - tickets must be prepurchased from the Carl Perkins Center - 731-659-2373.

The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) will run Who Stole Santa’s Pants? Friday through Sunday, December 2 - 4, 2022. Original production written by local playwright Monita Carlin. Tickets on sale at hcactn.org.

Hope Holiday Mart - benefitting the Hope House Shelter and the Carl Perkins Center Friday, December 2 from 4-8 pm and Saturday, December 3 - 9 am-4 pm - 208 Hope St., Bolivar. Food available to purchase, vendors, and visit with Santa Claus!

Pancake Breakfast with Santa - December 3 - 8-10 am Bolivar Municipal Center - Cost is $8 and tickets must be prepurchased from the Carl Perkins Center - 731-659-2373.

Cookies with the Grinch at the Hardeman County Chamber of Commerce - 112 S. Main St., Bolivar - December 3 from 12-2 pm.

City of Bolivar Christmas in Toyland 2022 Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting - Saturday, December 3 at 6:00 pm. Music, family fun, tree lighting, vendors, Santa and MORE!

Middleton High School will serve Pancakes with Santa, December 3 - 7:30-10:30 am. A picture with Santa and Breakfast is $15 and adding an ornament and cookie decorating will be $25. Sponsored by the Middleton High School Beta Club.

Christmas at the Lafayette Gin in Grand Junction will be December 3 from 3:00-6:00 pm. Pictures with Santa and Cookies from 4:30-5:30, Tree lighting at 5:30pm. Vendors will be in Gin from 3:00-6:00 pm.

A Home for Christmas presented by BCHS Theater - December 5 at 6:00 pm. Admission $5 - program in BCHS Auditorium.

Elvis Kind of Christmas at the Hardeman County Arts Council - December 9 at 7pm. StarringBrian Lee Howell and his Showband - Tickets are $12.

Middleton’s Down Home Christmas Parade will be December 10. Entry forms must be completed and submitted by December 8. Call Middleton City Hall at 731-376-0276.

Middleton High School Band Christmas Concert December 13 at 7pm.

Visit from Santa in Toone - Tuesday, December 20 - 6:00 pm. Santa will ride through Toone on a firetruck and then stop at City Park to visit & sing Christmas Carols. Free hot dogs & snacks!

Blue Christmas - a Service of Rememberance and Hope at Bolivar Methodist Church - December 21 at 5pm - a community event for those grieving over loss, illness, financial hardship, addiction, etc. during the Holidays.

The Bolivar-Hardeman County Library would like to let the community know they can turn their family genealogy information in at the Library.

The Middleton Library will have Young Adults Book Club on December 3 at 11:00 a.m., Book Club for Adults December 9 at 1:00 p.m., Pre-school Story Time on December 15 at 1:00 p.m., Manga Book Club on December 16 at 4:00 p.m., and will be closed on December 23-25 for Christmas and December 30-31 for New Year’s Eve.  For more information, call the Middleton Community Library at 731-376-0680.

Loaves and Fishes Food Bank needs all non-perishable food items. Call 609-2397 to drop off your donations. Canned fruit and protein items are most needed.

The Hardeman County Republican Party will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at 100 South Main Street in Bolivar.

Bolivar Masonic Lodge #608 meets the 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Grand Junction Community Walk every second Saturday of the month at the city park, if it rains it will be at the Old Cotton Gin.

The Warrior Center in Bolivar on North Water Street needs donations of men’s hygiene products like bar soap, body wash, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes; Men’s clothing like shirts, pants, shoes, socks, and underwear; cleaning supplies like dish soap, multipurpose cleaners, bleach, laundry soap, fabric softener, window cleaner, air fresheners, Lysol disinfectant, Comet, Ajax, paper towels, and Pinesol; Vehicles in good running condition, preferably  multi-purpose vans (a receipt will be provided with tax id for donation purposes) notebook paper, spiral notebooks, ink pens, Bibles, computers, tools, and other household items.
