Middleton ladies streak jumps to 56

The Middleton Lady Tigers won three more games last week, winning home games against Jackson Christian School (JCS), 63-51 on Tuesday, Jan. 26, and Madison, 72-38 on Friday, Jan. 29, and a road game at West Carroll, 58-34, Saturday, on Jan. 30, bringing their win streak to 56 games.
In Tuesday’s game against JCS, Middleton got off to a slow start, and were behind 10 points after the first quarter. They were able to reduce that deficit to four points at the break, and had taken a three point lead after the third quarter which they had built up to 12 points by the final buzzer for a 63-51 win.
Sequoya Warren led Middleton with 18 points including two 3-pointers. Chelsey Perry added 2 points while Dakedra Mason and Alexis Pledge added 11 points each, including two 3-pointers for Pledge.
Friday’s game against Madison went much smoother. Middleton jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The Lady Tigers led by 13 points after the fist quarter, 18 points at the break, 27 points after the third quarter and 24 points by the end of the game for an easy 72-38 win.
Cherelle Jones led the way with 15 points, followed by Dakedra Mason with 13 points including three 3-pointers. While Chelsey Perry and Tyra Smith added 12 points each.
On Saturday, the Middleton ladies headed to West Carroll where they won 58-34. Complete stats were not available for this game.     
The Middleton ladies’ record is now 20-0 (8-0 in district 15-A)
The Middleton boys had a little tougher time last week, losing their first district game on Tuesday, a 61-58 loss to JCS at home, before bouncing back for an easy 72-30 win over Madison at home on Friday, then following that up with a non district win on the road to West Carroll, 89-41 on Saturday.
