Fry and McIntyre Win Golf Championships

Blake Fry won his first Hardeman County Golf and Country Club championship with a 36-hole total of even par 144 September 3-4. Fry, 43, started the second round five behind first round leader Jon Sain who shot 69 in Saturday’s round. Fry followed with two under 70 to beat Dennis Strope by one stroke. Stope birdied the final hole while Fry had a bogey on the final hole. Sain finished third with a 156 total. Defending champion Corey Madden had a pair of 77s for a 154 total and a sixth place finish.
In the senior division, Bill McIntyre successfully defended his title with a four stroke win over Tony Cooper. McIntyre shot rounds of 73 and 79 for a 152 total while Cooper shot a 77 and 79 for a 156 total. Billy Dodds finished third with a 163 total with Buzzie Forbes finishing one stroke further back with a total of 164.
