Bolivar ladies split a pair of games

The Bolivar Central High School Lady Tigers split a pair of games last week, losing to Jackson South Side 63-52 at home on Tuesday, Jan. 26, then defeating McNairy Central on the road 59-31 on Friday, Jan. 29.
Bolivar got off to a slow start in Tuesday’s game against South Side, and were down by seven points after the first quarter. The Lady Tigers were able to even things up by halftime, but South Side took control in the second half, leading by three points after the third quarter and 11 points after the fourth quarter for a 63-52 win.
Hailey Hardaway led the effort for Bolivar with 18 points including three 3-pointers. Kenylsha Bryant added 11 points.
Friday’s game went much better for the Lady Tigers. Bolivar got off to a hot start, and led by 23 points by the end of the first quarter. They struggled a bit in the second quarter, and McNairy was able to cut their deficit to 17 points by half time. Bolivar regained the momentum in the second half and led by 23 points after the third quarter and 28 points by the end of the game for a 59-31 win.
Kenylsha Bryant and Hailey Hardaway led the way for Bolivar with 16 points each, including three 3-pointers for Hardaway. Alexius Futrell added 15 points.
The Bolivar ladies are now 8-12 (2-14 in District 14AA).
The Bolivar boys lost both of their games last week, losing to Jackson South Side, 82-68 at home on Tuesday, then falling to McNairy Central on the road 64-59 on Friday.
