Bolivar ladies drop a pair of games to Lexington

The Bolivar Central Lady Tigers' woes on the softball field continued on Tuesday night, March 24, losing both sides of a doubleheader to the Lexington Lady Tigers, 9-0 in the early game, and 17-2 in the nightcap.

The opening game was all Lexington. They scored three times in the first inning, four times in the second inning, and twice in the fourth inning, for a total of nine runs on nine hits. The only player for Bolivar to get a hit was Allie Turner, who was 1-3 in the game

The second game started off just as tough for Bolivar. Lexington poured out 12 runs in the first inning, three runs in the second inning and one run in each of the third and fourth innings. Bolivar managed to score two runs in the second inning on a two RBI double to center field by Leah Parks. Lexington finished the game with 17 runs on 14 hits, while Bolivar had two runs on four hits with four errors.

Allie Turner was 2-3 with one run, while Becca Fulghum was 1-1 with a double and a run, and Leah Parks was 1-2 with a double and 2 RBIs.

“Allie really hit the ball well today,” Bolivar Head Coach Dylan Hill said.

With the losses, Bolivar's record is now 0-9.

“We definitely have a long way to go,” Hill said.
