Bolivar boys win final regular season game, struggle in tourney

The Bolivar Central Tigers finished the regular season with a 10-2 win on the road against Rossville Christian Academy on Tuesday, April 28. However, they struggled in the District 14AA tournament at McNairy Central, losing to South Side 16-5 on Thursday, April 30, then losing to Chester County 7-1 on Saturday, May 2 to end their season.

The Tigers ended their regular season on a positive note, taking command over Rossville in the first inning with five runs, capped off by a double from Ian Clark that scored two Bolivar runners. Bolivar scored again in the fourth on a double by Klay Tucker which scored Hunter Hart. The Tigers added four more runs in the seventh capped off when Hart tripled on a line drive to right field that scored two Bolivar runners. Bolivar finished the game with 10 runs on eight hits with four errors. Rossville scored one run in the first, and one more run in the sixth for a total of two runs on five hits with four errors.
Hunter Hart was top hitter for Bolivar, going 3-4 at the plate including a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. Austin Sisco was 2-3 with a double, two RBIs, and one run scored. Klay Tucker was 1-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, Kaleb McKinnie was 1-3 with two runs scored, Ian Clark was 1-4 with a double and two RBIs, Stefon Goss was 0-3 with one run scored, Peyton Shelton was 0-3 with one run scored, and Trae Hobbs was 0-4 with two runs scored, Hobbs was also credited as the winning pitcher, throwing all seven innings, giving up two runs, and five hits while throwing seven strikeouts.
