Bolivar’s Harris and Davis win District 14 A-AA Doubles title
Several members of the Bolivar tennis team competed in the District 14 A-AA boys and girls individual tennis Tournament on Friday, May 1 and Saturday May 2, at Union City, with the boys team of Landon Harris and Jake Wilson walking away with the title.

In Friday’s play in round for the boys, Luke Ormerod defeated Dylan Turner (Gibson Co.) by forfeit, in singles.
In Friday’s first round for the boys, Kenderick Grant lost to Dalton Young (Halls) 8-0, and Luke Ormerod defeated Chris Houston (Halls) 8-0 in singles. In doubles, Braxdon Frost/ David TerBurgh defeated Corely/Tilghman (Union City) 8-4, and Landon Harris/Jake Wilson defeated Siler/London (Gibson Co.) by forfeit.
In Friday’s second round, Luke Ormerod lost to Sam Critchlow (Union City) 8-0 in singles. In doubles, Braxdon Frost/David TerBurgh defeated Smith/Castelli (Halls)8-6, and Landon Harris/Jake Wilson defeated Cormack/Reeves (Halls) 8-2
In Saturday’s semifinal round, Braxdon Frost/David TerBurgh lost to Burch/Lewis (Trenton- Peabody), 7-6(8-6), 6-7(4-7), 6-4. and Landon Harris/Jake Wilson defeated Goodman/Foote (McNairy Co.), 6-2, 6-3.
In Saturday’s finals, Landon Harris/Jake Wilson defeated Burch/Lewis (Trenton-Peabody), 6-2, 6-0, to take the title.
In addition, Landon Harris, Jake Wilson, Braxdon Frost and David TerBurgh were all named to the all district team.
Harris and Wilson will play in the regional doubles semifinals on Monday, May 11 at Martin-Westview.
