WES Opens Doors for Summer Program

As every child can’t wait for those summer months of waterparks, games, plenty of rest, and a break from school, Whiteville Elementary School is proving that the learning never stops. While combining creative learning and fun activities, WES had its summer program kick-off this Monday and the kids were more excited than ever.
WES is putting their 21st Century Schools Grant to good use as they started their three-week program on Monday, June 6th. With Kindergarten-2nd grade focusing mainly on reading and grammar skills while 3rd-7th grade do a bit of everything, the program is beneficial for all kids, at any age.
WES Principal, Cedric Crisp, says it’s different from your traditional August-May school year.
“It’s not all paper, pencil, books, presentations, and things like that; it’s more about constructive learning, being hands-on, and building on information.”
