Resolution for Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence passes unanimously

Among the packed agenda for the Hardeman County Commission, the commissioners unanimously passed a motion made during Tuesday night's meeting for a resolution to urge the Hardeman County Board of Education to make a mandatory rule for each school to have the Pledge of Allegiance and a Moment of Silence in every classroom at the beginning of each school day. The Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence would be student led. Although the resolution passed unanimously at the commission meeting, the Board of Education members must still pass it at the board meeting in order for it to become effective. Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain initiated the resolution and Commissioner Elmer Cobb Jr, a Vietnam Veteran, read the resolution aloud to the commissioners.
