The Ruritan Club voted to make a donation to Hardeman Adoptable Animals in memory of Gordon Harris who passed away unexpectedly March 22. Harris was a tireless volunteer for HAA, often bringing personal equipment from home to complete shelter projects.

Ruritan Club hears how Memphis Regional Megasite will affect Hardeman

Rob Jensik, Executive Directorof the Hardeman County Chamber of Commerce, was the  guest speaker at the April meeting of the Grand Junction Ruritan Club. He discussed the impact of the Memphis Regional Megasite (industrial site) on our area. Jensik believes there is a likelihood the geographical location of Hardeman County in relation to the 4,000 acre site would attract support for businesses for manufacturing plants built there. Grand Junction was one of the communities Jensik specifically mentioned as a beneficiary.
“Another project that would have a great impact on our county would be the location of a 4-H Camp Center at Lone Oaks Farm”, he said. “This would be a world class center. The finest facility of its kind in the hemisphere.”
