Grand Valley Lakes Ladies Club has successful fundraiser

Pictures, picture frames, shoes, and, of course, tons of clothes. That was just the beginning. Also a recliner/rocker and a treadmill? Hand sewn purses and wreaths braided from grape (muscadine) vines found right here in Grand Valley. The assortment of new, used, and homemade items offered by the Grand Valley Lakes Ladies Club at their Annual Yard Sale was extensive! The prices were even more unbelievable. “We priced items to sell” for sure,” said Lona Coffee, President.
The cool, weather may have had an impact on the amount of traffic.  Every shopper, including several children, found something they liked and purchased. All items for sale were donated and all monies received went into the Ladies Club fund to finance their future community efforts. “All in all it was a successful sale,” said Coffee. “This is our biggest fundraising effort of the year and we’ll be having a repeat event in the not too distant future.”
Almost 40 ladies belong to the club. The Grand Valley Lakes community has made improvements to amenities over the years. These physical additions are important, but even more so, is the support the club offers residents in time of need. From providing personal emergency packets to bringing food to families who have lost loved ones, these ladies are always there. Supporting their community service efforts is vital to the club’s success and makes Grand Valley Lakes an even better place to live.
