Bringing Home the Bacon in Grand Junction

Grand Junction held its Eighth Annual Getting Piggy in the Park BBQ Contest on April 15 and 16.
Fifteen teams vied for cash prizes, trophies, and most of all, possession of the Golden Piggy Trophy until next year’s contest.
“Some of our entrants have been here every year since the beginning,” said Lorie Rice, organizer. “Their continued support has helped us grow. We really appreciate them staying with us through the years.”
The overall winner was Porkin in the Park of Bartlett. Winners in categories were Porkin in the Park (Sauce), Something Bad (Beans), N’ Hognito (Seafood), Butts and Bones (Beef), Oakhill (Chicken), N’Hognito (Ribs), Glazed and Confused (Ribs).
