CWA Championship Wrestling took over Bolivar Middle School (BMS) on Saturday, May 4 and put on a show to be remembered by wrestling fans and many newbies to the sport. Night of Legends brought wrestling legends and favorites like “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters, Robbie E, The Posse and more to the ring for a lot of entertainment and sweaty fun. There were bodies slamming inside the ring and onto the floor at ringside; yelling from the ring by wrestlers as well as from the floor by audience members; and people who sat in awe of the spectacle that is wrestling. Despite the yelling and body slamming, there was also great sportsmanship from the wrestlers, who, regardless of their antagonistic behavior in the ring, were participating to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Jade Martial Arts celebrated another promotional testing on Monday, April 29, 2013 with the promotion of Haley Harris from blue to purple belt, Keith Murden, Jr. to yellow belt, and Daniel Owen to yellow belt. The changing of the belts is like the changing of the seasons or the colors of the sky. In fact, blue belt represents sky and the purple belt, the changing sky of dawn, with the yellow belt representative of the Sun, which is needed for all things to survive. Though everyone begins with a white belt of purity and without knowledge, martial arts students are taught qualities that speak to one’s character that allows them to develop into our future leaders. Such qualities a student learns throughout their martial arts journey includes being submissive, restraint, humility, love, compassion and courage.
