The newly-elected Hardeman County School Board members and Property Assessor took the oath of office on Friday, August 31 at the Hardeman County Courthouse. Beverly Bodiford, Jerry Crisp and Terry King took their oaths of office for the school board and Josh Pulse was sworn in as County Property Assessor by General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge Charles "Chip" Cary. "This is a manifestation of what makes this country great," said Cary. Cary told those in attendance that the electoral process of this country is what ensures officials represent the people and do not get comfortable in their positions of power. The officials were sworn in according to alphabetical order and each took the oath of office before Cary and dozens of citizens in attendance. The ceremony culminated with the swearing in of Josh Pulse as Property Assessor. Pulse took the oath of office while his daughter, Lily, clung to his leg.
