Museum, fair host annual photo contest

The Crossroads Museum is joining with the Alcorn County Fair to host the museum’s 13th Annual Photo Contest. The contest is open to all ages, but professional photographers (defined as those who make 50 percent or more of their income from photography) are ineligible. The seven categories of entry are action/sports, vacations, macro (closeups, flowers, insects), pets/ animals/wildlife/fowl, portrait/people, still life (landscapes, sunsets, waterfalls, buildings, textures) and youth (camera or cell phone photos, entrant must be 17-years-old or younger). Photos must be submitted unframed and unmated in an 8-by-10 format and can be digital or film and black and white or color. Photos can’t have been previously published. Photos which won an award in any previous museum photo contest are ineligible.
