Grace Pointe Church holds block party in Whiteville

Members and friends of Grace Pointe Church in Whiteville, TN., hosted a block party at Whiteville Elementary school on Saturday, October 3.
“This is just a way for us as a church to connect to the people of the community, serve them, and show them the love of Christ,” Grace Pointe Interim Pastor Ken Lewis said.
Church members and their friends served up free hot dogs, popcorn and snow cones to numerous families in the Whiteville area.  There were also games and bouncy houses for the kids.
While this was Lewis’ first block party, this is not a new thing for Grace Point. According to church member Eddie Kessler, they have been doing these block parties for several years, ever since the church started in 2011.
Lewis, who is originally from Mississippi, became Grace Pointe’s interim pastor in July. He attended Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also currently serves as Director of Information Services.
