PLEASE GIVE TO TOYS FOR TOTS. Nikki Williams, 616-8942, will spend all monies donated in Hardeman County. Make checks out to Mid South Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots will have their sign ups and donation information at the Bolivar Library everyday through November 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or call Nikki Williams at 731-616-8942. Remember to bring your photo ID, copies of each child’s birth certificate up 14years and a letter from DHS detailing what type of assistance you are currently receiving.

Need some extra money for the upcoming holidays? The Salvation Army is looking for Christmas Red Kettle Bell Ringers for Hardeman County.  They will pay minimum wage and are in critical need of volunteer and paid bell ringers. Please email Major Joe May at JacksonTN@uss.salvationarmy.org.  And remember, all donations given in Hardeman County will stay in Hardeman County.

The Hardeman County Rescue Squad is having their smoked Thanksgiving Turkey and Ham Fundraiser. $35 each and can be picked up at Walmart on Thanksgiving Morning between 8:30 – 11 a.m. Call any Rescue Squad Member of call 609-8382 to order your turkey or ham.

The Bolivar Veterans Day Program will be held on Friday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the VFW building on East Market Street.

The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary will present The Annual Veteran’s Day program at the Veterans Wall in Middleton at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day on Friday, November 11.

The Hardeman County Veteran Ceremony will be held on December 9 at 9 a.m. at the Whiteville Elementary School. This was requested due to the fact that this is a presidential election year and the 75th Anniversary of the Bombing of Pearl Harbor. The Jackson ROTC Choir will be singing the National Anthem. Lunch will be served to all Veterans.

The Middleton Country Craft Fair will be held on November 11 from Noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday, November 12 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with multiple vendors, food, pictures with Santa on Saturday. 429 N. Main St. Call Mary at 609-9929 for more information.

The Toone Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the live auction beginning at noon. Some events include: petting zoo, game truck, rock wall, putt-putt golf, dunking booth, silent and live auctions, kid’s games, bubble soccer, karaoke room, face painting, cake walk, toy walk, corn hole tournaments for adults and kids, hayride, concessions, prizes and so much more.

The 5K for Christ will be held at 100 Church Street in Hornsby on Saturday, November 12 at 9 a.m. Registration is $30 and ages 9 and under are $15. Race day registration and packet pick up is from 8:00-8:45 before the race. Proceeds will benefit the Hope House, The Recovery Court of Hardeman County and Love Thy Neighbor Ministries.

A Benefit for Hardeman County Deputy Lynn Shields will be held on November 12 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Family Entertainment Center in Whiteville with live music, drawings, bounce house, train rides and face painting for the kids, chili cook-off with prizes, motorcycle and poker run, food and much more.

A Benefit for Jacob Dowty will be held on November 12 beginning at 3 p.m. and the Lawton Community Center in Selmer. Southern Bootleggers will have a $10 Pork Loin Dinner, the corn hole tournament begins at 3:00 p.m. and there will be live music.  All proceeds benefit Jacob Dowty.

The Silerton Fire Department will host their annual fund raiser Variety Show on November 12.  Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served at 6 pm with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Contact Wanda Young at 658-2808 if you would like to participate in Variety show.

The Wiggins Family Reunion will be held on November 12 at Forrest Hill Church on Hwy 64E beginning at Noon.

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 4050 Lake Hardeman Road will host the Mark Trammell Quartet on November 17 at 7 p.m. Pastor Ray Lovelady invited everyone to attend. Call 659-1208 or 610-8302 for more information.

Grand Junction Ruritan Stew will be available at the John Wilder Community Center on Saturday, November 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Eat in or take out. Meals for $8 include stew, crackers or cornbread, dessert and drink for $8 or take out by the quart for $10 or gallon for $25.

The Hardeman County Arts Council presents the Broadway-style musical One Bethlehem Night, December 2-4 at the Arts Center. Tickets will go on sale to arts council members on November 21 and for the general public on November 26. The box office will be closed for Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 25.

The Friends of Middleton Library will host Santa Day on Saturday, December 3 from 1-3 p.m. Santa Day will be held at the Middleton Boy Scout Hut to support the Middleton Library. Have your picture made with Santa, decorate cookies and write letters to Santa.

The Hope Holiday Mart will be held on December 2-3 at the Municipal Center in Bolivar. Vendor spaces are still available.  Contact Andrea Young if you are interested at 609-9250. Make plans to attend this shopping experience that benefits the American Cancer Society and Hope House.

The City of Bolivar Christmas Parade will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016, at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is a Story Book Christmas. Call 658-2020 for more details and to enter.

Breakfast with Santa at the Middleton High School Cafeteria will take place on December 10 from 8-10 a.m. Pancakes, sausage along with juice or milk will be served for $5. Photos and crafts are extra. Proceeds benefit MMS baseball team.

Become A Certified Recovery Congregation. The State of TN Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services has launched a mission partnering with faith based communities in Bolivar to reach out to those struggling with addictions and connecting them to vital substance abuse services. Hardeman Adoptable Animals Shelter needs volunteers to socialize with these wonderful animals while they are waiting for their permanent and forever homes.  Any and all help is appreciated including but not limited to playing with, walking and cleaning food/water bowls and habitats. Non committal volunteer hours are daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pedigree dog food, blankets and money donations are always welcome. The shelter is located within the Hardeman County Landfill on Walton Road west of Bolivar. New Bethel Baptist Church Services will begin each Sunday with Sunday school at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Wednesdays nights at 6:30 p.m. with Brother Robert Buse preaching.  Everyone is welcome and invited to attend.
